Refunds
Full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked.
If an app isn't right for you, email [email protected] within 30 days of buying it. Send it from the address you bought with, or include that address, and say which app. You don't need to give a reason. The refund goes back to your original payment method, and your bank usually shows it within 5 to 10 business days.
If the app uses an activation code, the code stops working once the refund goes through. For apps without a code, please delete the app from your computer.
Apps bought through Apple's App Store are refunded by Apple. Request those at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Terms of sale
- What you're buying. When you buy an app here, you get a licence to use it yourself on the computers you personally use. It's a one-time purchase with no subscription.
- Please don't share it. Your download link and any activation code are for you. Please don't resell them, post them or pass them on.
- Payments. Checkout is handled by Stripe. Your purchase is sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company, which acts as the seller of record and takes care of sales tax. Your receipt comes from Link, and your card statement shows LINK.COM* OAK & BYTE.
- No warranty. Every app is made with care and tested before release. They're still provided as they are, without any promise that they'll suit every purpose or never have a bug. If something doesn't work, email me and I'll do my best to fix it. If I can't, the refund policy above applies.
- Limit of liability. As far as the law allows, Oak & Byte isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using an app. Any liability is limited to the amount you paid for it.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA.
Privacy
The short version: I collect only what's needed to sell you an app and help you with it. I don't sell or rent your information, and I don't use it for advertising.
- When you buy. Stripe processes your payment. I never see or store your card number. Stripe shares your name, email address and what you bought with me, so I can deliver your purchase and help if something goes wrong.
- Email. I use your email address to send your purchase and to answer you if you write to me. I won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask. Purchase emails are delivered through Resend, an email delivery service.
- Activation. Apps that use an activation code check it on your own computer, so the code isn't sent to me. Now and then they download a short public list of refunded codes from oakandbyte.com, and nothing about you is included in that request. Your files and anything you make with the apps are never sent.
- Liftmask. Liftmask works entirely on your Mac. The pictures you open and the cutouts you make are never uploaded.
- This website. The site doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers and sets no cookies of its own. Like any web server, it keeps standard logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
- iPhone apps. Apps sold through the App Store are covered by the privacy details shown on their App Store pages.
- Your choices. You can ask to see or delete the information I hold about you by emailing me.
